Biography

Don Ho started out humbly like most others. Right after serving national service in the navy, he first embarked on the direct sales and service industry, beginning as a door-to-door salesperson. After which he joined Singapore Airlines as a cabin crew for next three years. After three years of seeing the world, he joined Abloy Security, a Finland security solution in the construction sector, serving professional end users such as Defense and Prison Ministries. He also spent another 7 years in selling building material in construction sector before taking over his family’s tentage business.

With steadfast passion and vision, Don initiated a transformation in this traditional, trade, serving 4 different sectors such as bereavement, weddings, events and exhibitions in the outdoor settings. He further improvise by introducing aluminum technology tents into the local market when Formula One came into the events scene in Singapore. Despite facing imminent obstacles, he contributed tremendously under work safety work-group for Singapore’s tent industry, as the co-chairman.

Over the years, he work closely with Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC) too, rolling out work-safety policy within Nanyang Inc. Within less than a decade, Don remodelled the debt-ridden company into an international brand that is visible at events like the F1 Singapore Grand Prix, Amber Lounge and Singapore Garden Festival, and most recently, Extreme Sailing Series, and Laneway Festival.

Don strives to provide a positive work environment for his employees, where they are able to develop their fullest potential. He holds high value in partnerships and team spirit, which is why he stands firm in creating a rewarding career path rather than providing just-another-job.

It is deep-rooted in him that at the heart of every successful business, is the genuine desire to provide solutions for its clients, and runs with that heartbeat for Nanyang Inc, his outdoor event solution business, Citrus Media, a publishing house, and The Ark, a soccer futsal venue business.

In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing soccer. He often dedicates quality time with his parents, wife, and two sons as that is his way of appreciating his family for their endless support towards him and his businesses.
